Spark gap tube of soviet production RB-2 (РБ-2) is a glass, inert gas (argon) filled discharge tube with two closely placed electrodes, which was designed to protect communication lines and equipment against atmospheric overvoltages by creating a controlled electrical arc between electrodes within a sealed housing.
